Gquest stands for 'global quest'. Players around the game within the level
range of the given global quest are able to take place in a competition to
see who can kill designated mobs the fastest. To see updates for current
and upcoming global quests, 'toggle gq' must be turned on.
Typing 'gquest info' will show you what level range the quest is for, how
many players are participating in the quest, how many minutes before the quest
begins, rewards for winning, and which monsters have been chosen to be
killed.
With the 'gquest' command you can see how much gold it will cost to reset
your global quest wait timer. The cost will lessen as the timer minutes down.
To reset it, use the command 'gq reset'. Quest coins at the Hillock Hills
questmaster can also be used in place of gold to reset the timer.
Possible rewards for winning a global quest are practices and mudpies. You
will always receive gold and questpoints for winning. Killing a gq target
will also reward a small portion of questpoints and gold. Rewards for
winning a global quest and killing a global quest monster increase if you
are wearing equipment that has questpoint or gold multipliers. The only way
to receive credit for killing a gq target is by killing it yourself. If
grouped and a group member kills the target, you will not receive credit.
Remember to always quaff a potion of true sight before beginning a gquest.
Your gq target may be invisible to you otherwise.
A gquest will start once every 10 minutes. You may join as often as you
wish, but if you win a gq, you must wait 4 hours until you can join one
again. This 4 hour timer minutes away even when you are offline. If there
are no eligible players on for gq, no gq will start. Eligible players are
players with a gq timer under 2 minutes. Check score to see when you can
gquest next. You cannot join a gq that has already started. If you go
linkdead after joining a gquest and are still linkdead when the global quest
begins, the global quest will be cancelled if you are the only player
participating. This is in place so that a global quest will not start with
a player who may or may not return. Once the global quest has begun, if all
the participants quit, the quest will be cancelled within one minute.
Global Quests will skip over players who are AFK or who have been idle for
at least 30 minutes. You can also type 'toggle nogq' if you want global
quests to skip over you while you are actively playing.
You cannot gate (this includes all teleport skills and spells) to your quest
target.
